Hi,
Firstly thanks to the creators for making the site. I am seeing lots of similar interests and am hoping to meet people with common interests.
I am Sparsh and have lived in Cork for nearly 3 years now, although I moved to the countryside a while back due to my job. Being kinda socially awkward, its hard to find and connect with people with similar interests when you are not in the city. I love to read, watch tv shows (the weirder, the better) and travel. I am a trainee accountant at the moment, and although its hard to have some free time with the exams and everything, hope to meet and connect with people.
Hi,
Yeah, I have been living in Cork for nearly 3 years now, although I moved to the countryside a while back and really miss the city. Its kinda hard to connect with locals in the countryside, as most people seem to know each other very well and I am sort of socially awkward.

Hi guys! I’m Elyse, I’m Australian and moved to Kilkenny nearly 5 years ago now. I absolutely love it here! I have found though since COVID that quite a few friends have moved back home and that has left me feeling lonely in Kilkenny, hence why I’m here! I love a good book, a good binge, a good pint and ofcourse a good coffee. If you’re around Kilkenny and want to meet up let me know 😊

in forum General
SerenaParticipantHey guys
I’m new to this platform. I was just interested to see if anyone else on here is interested in Korea.
I first got an interested in Korea in 2016. I was a first yar in college and had recently discovered kdrama the previous year and kpop that year. I immediately became intrigued by the language and i decided from then on i wanted to move to south Korea. That is when i discovered the Epik program which allows you to work as an English language teacher in Korea. All that’s required is a bachelors degree in any discipline and a tefl certificate. You apply then submit the relevant documents and if yore lucky you get an interview and pass then you get to go to Korea. I have literally been dreaming about this for 5 years now. Sadly I couldn.t apply this year because of the corona virus.
The reason why im so interested in going to Korea is because I just think the language is fantastic. I’ve never heard anything like it before. I love learning new languages and I added korean onto my list. One day I just thought to myself what is the best way to learn a language? Of course the answer was going to the country where the language is spoken. That way you can practice with natives and also get to partake in the culture of that country and learn about the history as well.
I haven’t given up on going yet and I plan to go next year by the grace of God. Wish me luck guys.
If anyone else is interested to hear more or just interested in Korea in general please feel free to comment on this topic. I would love to discuss with other people.

Hi, I’m Shelagh and I’ve just joined this site today. I’m 42 and living in Kildare, (near Dublin) ,having recently moved back to Ireland after several years abroad. I’m married with two children. I like nature, reading, walking, yoga, travelling, art, good food… lots of things really! Moving back to Ireland during a pandemic coupled with working a shift pattern has made it harder to make new friends . Would love to meet some new female friends for a walk/chat/coffee.

AnonymousInactiveHi Tinad. I have been going to the gym for five years I used to go once a week and after that I did kick boxing. I would go two times a week for exercise rounds and one of the days for the kick boxing. I enjoyed the gym I don’t miss it that much it would be good to go back to it. At home what I do for exercise is go for walks am not into exercising at home

TINADParticipantHow is everyone coping with the gyms being closes?
I used to train 4 times a week, love the gym experience, it’s so much more than just going there to lift weights or cardio, it’s a vibe, it’s the energy, it’s what it makes you feel inside…
I’ve tried at home workouts and did well for the first lockdown but I haven’t been able to motivate myself…it’s just not the same…
I hear gyms are opening on the 7th June…
Can’t come quick enough for me…
Anyone else feel the same???April 21, 2021 at 9:59 pm #3177In reply to: Photography – Your favourite photos
We got our first day back in Nov 2019 – so hadn’t really had any nice hiking time with him, so were delighted to travel upwards in Tipperary and have a nice wander around a hiking route we’d never been to before. Great to have some nice new memories. What would you share @louise-ward?

Hi folks,
I’m 25 and have lived in Ireland for the past 2.5 years, started my journey in Dublin where I did my master’s from UCD and then moved to the lovely town of Galway, finally settled down in cork now!
I love all kinds of outdoor activities, been sneaking out to west cork for the past few weeks during lockdown but hit me up if you want someone to binge watch a show/ anime or wanna go out for a cup of coffee!April 18, 2021 at 6:21 pm #3130In reply to: Lets introduce ourselves!
Hi everyone,
My name is Andy. I am 29 and currently living in Louth (although I have just bought a house in Co. Meath and will move there next year once it has been built).
I am both a secondary school teacher (Philosophy, Religion and English) and a college lecturer (Sociology and Philosophy).
I am lucky to have a wonderful fiancée, who is also a teacher but am looking to meet some new friends (male or female) who have an interest in film, history, travel and music.I plan to attend a lot of concerts in Ireland and festivals around Europe once this lockdown has ended, so it would be ideal to meet some people who are also open to jumping on a plane to go and listen to some rock music!

Good afternoon, everyone!
My name’s Lara and I’m from Switzerland. I’ve stumbled across this site in my search to learn more about Ireland and to get sort of a starting point, as I am currently looking for an employment in Dublin – it’s always been my dream to work abroad and now I’m finally in the position where I can actually begin to tackle it.
I studied translations (English and French into German) and am currently trying to learn Dutch, Italian and Irish, though the focus clearly is on Dutch. I’m interested in basically everything – as long as it’s presented to me with joy and passion, I’m on board (except all things mathematical, I’m at total loss here…)
Thanks to my dad, I’ve had a fascination for the northern european countries ever since I can remember and have visited Dublin a couple of times in the past.
Despite being interested in many things, I don’t make contact with new people too easily so I’m hoping to find one or two people on this site.
That’s it from me for now, and until soon!
Cheers,
LaraNovember 22, 2020 at 12:15 am #2274In reply to: Lets introduce ourselves!
Hi Everyone!
I’m so excited I found this site! I currently live in Seattle, Washington, USA, but am planning to move to Ireland in the next few years and hope to make some friends before I arrive. I’m 45 years old but people mistake me for much younger. Single and no kids. My ancestors were originally from Ireland a long time ago and I feel in my heart a strong urge to ‘return home.’ I visited Ireland in 2011 and can’t wait to come back. I’m currently studying the Irish language and hope someday to be fluent and live in a place where I can speak it every day to help keep the culture alive and growing.
I have lots of curiosity and enthusiasm about many things: music, photography, nature, contemplative spirituality, monasteries, history, travel, reading, psychology, bird watching, museums, architecture, long hikes, self-improvement, meditation. In my day job I provide tech support to librarians.
I’m a pretty quiet, introverted, easy-going person and hoping to make some deep friendships! Thanks and take care.

I love photography! I can’t always take my camera as I developed rheumatoid arthritis last year, it’s all over but my hands and wrists and shoulders can get really bad so I can’t use them much. Here are some of my favourites from the last 12 months. I particularly love animal photography, landscapes, and street photography. This one is in Morocco, Marrakesh, such a vibrant colourful place, on the surface it seems like absolute mayhem, but look a little closer and you see that it’s not at all.June 3, 2020 at 8:47 pm #1756In reply to: Photography – Your favourite photos

Hi, I am originally from Cork but now living in Tipperary. I only moved here last summer & Ihaven’t really got to know anyone here yet. This Covid lockdown isn’t helping. I fill my time with movies, podcasts & cooking. I hope to make some connections through this lovely platform. I have two dogs to keep me company.

Eating too much seems to be the common theme coming out of this lockdown ?. I have been walking the little legs off my dog and starting to grow a bit of veg in pots. Thank goodness for the beautiful weather!

Hi, I’m Caitriona, from Carlow. I really hope that people make use of this wonderful platform to meet new people. While Ireland may be known as the land of a thousand welcomes, when it comes to making real strong friendships in adulthood, Ireland can be very cliquey. If you move town or country it can be extremely difficult to find lasting friendships here. This site deserves lots of publicity and I really hope people make use of it. The very best of luck ?☘️

@louanne Yes, “Don’t F*ck With Cats” is really good. It raised a hard question for us viewer to answer.
I couldn’t keep up with long series so I opt for short mini-series instead, mostly documentary like DFWC, Cooked, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Planet Earth, The Crown, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Midnight Diner..
Currently I’m watching Night On Earth.. Next on list is Ragnarok

I grew up on Marvel comics and used to travel to forbidden planet to spend my first jobs wages on numerous comics but I never ventured into anime, but my nephew loves them and took me to a couple of stores in Madrid and that was a real eye-opener to the world of anime. Just wondering if there’s a film/series you’d recommend to check out?

@julianaayu Happy February 🙂
About 15 months ago I gave up drink and stuck with that and feeling all the better for it, but I’ve never tried to make a change in January. Although I’ve been aiming to read more offline lately, some books I’ve ordered have just arrived so hope to get stuck into one tomorrow and hopefully continue with that.

Hi everyone! So my name is Jon (33), currently live in the UK at the moment, however I’m looking to move to Galway as I’m in the process of writing a bid/proposal that will hopefully allow me to take over the operations of the air service that operates between the Aran Islands and the mainland. I originally wanted to join the military, however I wasn’t able to do so at the time due to my eyesight so I turned my attention to commercial aviation and have previously worked at Gatwick and Heathrow airports and also for a private jet firm (believe me, it’s not as glamorous as it sounds…!). Taken quite a bit of time off lately due to mental health issues, however I’m really excited about the prospects for the future and have high hopes of starting a new life in Ireland very soon.
