Hello, BFFs! I am counting the days until we can fix up our house in California and sell it, then move to Ennis. The current plan is April 2025. Tick tock tick tock.
I grew up in South Africa, lived in Dublin for a few years in the 1980s, and have spent the last several years in California. Now our kids are grown and it’s time for Pat and me to go exploring on our own, and what better spot than Co. Clare, amirite?
There are a lot of people reaching out here on BFF. I’m curious how well that’s working. I’m fairly introverted so it’s always been hard for me to “just make friends”, and I find it super awkward to reach out to a stranger and say “hey I’ll be your friend” because you never know what you’re getting into. 😬 When we were young, our school classmates provided a good pool of potential friends. At work, we’re exposed to people who might turn into friends. (Unless you worked where I used to work 🙄) And when you’re in a new place and don’t know anyone, it’s really, really hard.
But research shows that one way to start friendships is to keep showing up.
One of the first things I’m going to do when we hit the ground in Ireland is sign up to volunteer… somewhere. I’ve found a few volunteer orgs but I’d love to get some suggestions. Who knows, I might even be able to connect with one of them <i>before</i> we get to Ireland.

Hello Frinds. Here in Spain se Celebra la Tradición de la Semana Santa con sus Procesiones, me gustaria saber de alguna de vuestras tradiciones de vuestro Bello PaÃs Irlanda. Here en España la Gente es muy Religiosa yo no soy Religioso, la Gente acude a Ver desfilar a las procesiones y van a Misa. Bueno esto es un poco de lo que se Celebra en mi Pais. Thanks. Aquà va un aportillo de un Programa en el lenguaje Python para quien lo pueda Aprovechar.

Hey y’all,
I’m Sarah, 33 years old and originally from Germany but have previously lived in the US and Spain as well. I moved with my husband and our dog Chewy to the Cork area in 2020 (yep, great timing lol) for work and it has unfortunately been difficult to make new friends around here. I’m an easy-going person who likes to be active (I love hiking and yoga but I also like to try new activities). I also love food (cooking (as healthy as possible), baking, eating, you name it) or just having a pint at the pub is grand as well. I’m looking for some girlfriends to hang out with (whether that may be staying in or going out, doing active stuff or starting a hobby together, I’m down to whatever!). Hey guys and gals, I’m Lize 26 and living in Gorey Co Wexford. Moved to Ireland from South Africa but was raised in the UK too so I’ve seen a few things in my short 26 years. I’m a wife and a mom to a gorgeous 2 year old girl.
Looking for a friend or couple to be friends with around our age (26&29) either mom friend for play dates or non mom friends for drinks. Or mom friend for drinks and non mom friends for play dates haha.
I absolutely love dogs, am on a bit of a weight loss journey right now. I love to read but never find enough time because #greysislife.

This is the wonkiest site I’ve ever seen. Sorry for the silly posts. The edit button doesn’t seem to work and I’ve no idea how to do anything on here. I’m not normally this ‘special’ I swear.
