Hi there!
I’m Sonia, a Spanish student excited to move to Dublin at the end of February for an internship.
Having grown up in a small village, I’m eager to embrace new experiences and explore the vibrant culture of the city. I’m particularly interested in trying out activities like watching musicals, playing tabletop role-playing games (like Dungeons & Dragons), and other fun experiences that I’ve missed out on due to my personal circumstances. In my free time, I love reading, binge-watching series and movies, and diving into genres like fantasy, science fiction, and horror. I can be a bit shy at first, but I’m looking to connect with friendly, open-minded people, especially in the LGBTQ+ community.
If you’re up for some adventures or just want to chat about our favorite shows and books, feel free to reach out! Looking forward to making new friends in Dublin!
Hi I’m Nia, another 40-something Irish lady who has moved back to Ireland after some decades abroad and now find myself wondering “yikes, how on earth do we make new friends at our age!?”. I live in the south-side of Dublin, and work in the creative industries.
My spouse and our daughter have both settled into their new Dublin life really well, I’m just lagging behind a little bit because I work from home a lot. So I’d love to push myself to be more sociable, I’m not a drinker but love getting out for a cuppa, or a pastry!
I love pop music, vegetarian food, reading trashy novels, comedy, video games, all that good stuff! I would consider myself a loyal and supportive friend, I’m still close with my old college pals from back in the day. All new friends welcome, best wishes

Hello, BFFs! I am counting the days until we can fix up our house in California and sell it, then move to Ennis. The current plan is April 2025. Tick tock tick tock.
I grew up in South Africa, lived in Dublin for a few years in the 1980s, and have spent the last several years in California. Now our kids are grown and it’s time for Pat and me to go exploring on our own, and what better spot than Co. Clare, amirite?
There are a lot of people reaching out here on BFF. I’m curious how well that’s working. I’m fairly introverted so it’s always been hard for me to “just make friends”, and I find it super awkward to reach out to a stranger and say “hey I’ll be your friend” because you never know what you’re getting into. π¬ When we were young, our school classmates provided a good pool of potential friends. At work, we’re exposed to people who might turn into friends. (Unless you worked where I used to work π) And when you’re in a new place and don’t know anyone, it’s really, really hard.
But research shows that one way to start friendships is to keep showing up.
One of the first things I’m going to do when we hit the ground in Ireland is sign up to volunteer… somewhere. I’ve found a few volunteer orgs but I’d love to get some suggestions. Who knows, I might even be able to connect with one of them before we get to Ireland.
What volunteer orgs do YOU recommend?

Hey,
I am in my late 40s and moved back to Ireland a few years ago, just before COVID hit. Most of my previous friends now have much younger kids than mine and are not interested in taking time off from their families, which is fine and understandable.
I am hoping to make new friends with similar interests to mine. Not interested in a romantic relationship, just friendships.
It is my first day here but I am getting the feeling not much is happening. Is there still someone around Dublin that is active in this site? If so, please feel free to give me a shout!
All the best,
Sonia π
Hi, I'm Dominik, 32, from Austria and I am on vacation in Dublin between 11.3 and 13.3. I am travelling alone to explore the city and to meet great people. Feel free to contact me if you have any recommendations about the city or if you would like to show me some special places or just to have a nice conversation with a drink (coffee/beer)! ^^
Hi!
Does any buddy have any information about crown urban bank?
Is this a real name and real bank? Or fake???
Here the it's address that they use in their website : 8 Albert College Ave, Glasnevin, Dublin 9, Ireland
Hi everyone! I'm new here and doing a research course to study what the current generation of Dubliners think about church. Would love observations from people who don't attend church or have much interest in spiritual stuff!
Anyone willing to answer a few questions and help me out?
Hey – I moved here a little more than a year ago. I agree – it's been hard to socialise in Dublin, more so than other countries I've lived before.
I'd be happy to meet for some coffee!
my boyfriend and i would love to jam with some people! we have a guitar and a keyboard, we both sing.

Hi I'm looking for a company to explore Ireland together. These can be short trips around Dublin as well as day trips to the farthest corners of Ireland. I like hiking, bike riding, kitesurfing and many other outdoor activities. Cities, mountains, coast… I'm flexible and open to explore everything so feel free to have your own ideas for destination. It will be also nice to share some coffee or food together π I am off work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and these are the days I want to travel. Don't hesitate to ask for anything or just to get to know each other. Cheers folks π

Hey everybody,
New to this app, but not new to Dublin. As restrictions seem to be lifting and normality is coming back gradually, was just wondering would anybody be up for planning a night out or drinks?
Hello everyone! I just made my account here. I’m 27 years old, Brazilian guy living in Dublin. I came here originally to study English, 3 years ago, but now I’m just working in my area (Software Engineering). I like to talk about pretty much everything, and I’m excited to meet y’all π
Hello my name is Melissa, I’m currently living in Bolivia but I’m moving to Dublin in January if everything goes under the plans! I wanna meet amazing people from Ireland I heard that you are one of the most friendly people in Europe I can’t wait to know more about your lovely culture and stories, of course I wanna meet people from all over the world too I will be happy to share with you some of my stories. I firmly believe that we should go back to the time when we were children and making friends was very easy, you only had to tell another child “Let’s be friends” and suddenly you acted with all the loyalty and affection that a friendship of that age entailed. I love music, reading, outdoor and indoor activities and many more, hope to find great friends. Have a great day!

Hi I am Vanessa and I have been living in Dublin for the past 4 years! It was never easy for me to make friends especially living a new country (ah, Iβm from Brazil), I was always really shy and very introverted person but I made some good friends over the years living here, but I feel that I lost touch with all those people and I have no idea how to make new friends, I just feel really weird and lonely lately so it would be great to get to know new people. Iβm a little bit awkward, but Iβm really nice, love to talk (after a while when I get to know the person), I love coffee, going for long walks, have a drink in a pub and many others stuff! π
Hi, I’m Shelagh and I’ve just joined this site today. I’m 42 and living in Kildare, (near Dublin) ,having recently moved back to Ireland after several years abroad. I’m married with two children. I like nature, reading, walking, yoga, travelling, art, good food… lots of things really! Moving back to Ireland during a pandemic coupled with working a shift pattern has made it harder to make new friends . Would love to meet some new female friends for a walk/chat/coffee.
Hi folks,
I’m 25 and have lived in Ireland for the past 2.5 years, started my journey in Dublin where I did my master’s from UCD and then moved to the lovely town of Galway, finally settled down in cork now!
I love all kinds of outdoor activities, been sneaking out to west cork for the past few weeks during lockdown but hit me up if you want someone to binge watch a show/ anime or wanna go out for a cup of coffee!

Looks to be a great site and amazing people here.. Waiting for unlockdown soon and be friends with humans again ?

Hi all! My name is Mirjana, but people tend to call me MJ ? . I am 25, work in Dublin as a Clinical Manager and I would love to meet some new girlfriends! I am an open minded individual and would just like to meet some new friends ?
Good afternoon, everyone!
My name’s Lara and I’m from Switzerland. I’ve stumbled across this site in my search to learn more about Ireland and to get sort of a starting point, as I am currently looking for an employment in Dublin – it’s always been my dream to work abroad and now I’m finally in the position where I can actually begin to tackle it.
I studied translations (English and French into German) and am currently trying to learn Dutch, Italian and Irish, though the focus clearly is on Dutch. I’m interested in basically everything – as long as it’s presented to me with joy and passion, I’m on board (except all things mathematical, I’m at total loss here…)
Thanks to my dad, I’ve had a fascination for the northern european countries ever since I can remember and have visited Dublin a couple of times in the past.
Despite being interested in many things, I don’t make contact with new people too easily so I’m hoping to find one or two people on this site.
That’s it from me for now, and until soon!
Cheers,
Lara
Hi everyone
My name is Paul. I’m currently studying creative writing in college with a view to working in TV. I’m 32, single, and don’t have any kids. I live in Dublin with housemates. I love to meet new people. I’m a quiet, introverted type. I’m a huge fan of the Smiths.
Hey all, Im 32 and looking to meet some new friends. As we all know it can be hard meeting people as you get older so I would be open to chatting or meeting some new people based around the Dublin / Kildare areas. I just want to point out that it is not me in the pic. I could not get through without one ?
